RENEWABLE ENERGY

A CONSTANT GROWTH TOWARDS A SAFE AND EFFECTIVE IMPROVEMENT

In 2014 wind power covered 8% of the electricity demand of Europe.

Wind energy can be converted into mechanical energy or electricity, thanks to wind farms.

Wind exploitation is implemented by means of wind machines divisible into 2 distinct groups according to:

– Type of basic module used: generators with horizontal or vertical axis.

– Energy production: large turbines and small wind turbines.

– Place of installation: at sea, on land, in buildings.

Wind power plants exploit the kinetic energy of the wind to generate mechanical energy which, thanks to wind turbines, is transformed into electricity.

ADVANTAGES
– NO EMISSION OF POLLUTANTS DURING ENERGY PRODUCTION
– THE SALE PRICE OF THE ENERGY PRODUCED IS VERY COMPETITIVE COMPARED TO OTHER RENEWABLE ENERGY

The risk of fire in wind farms is higher than previously thought. When this happens, we find ourselves in a remote, windy place and at a high altitude. The main causes of fire are: overheating of generators or electrical materials, short circuits, overloads and lightning. It is therefore important to prevent and act as soon as possible thanks to / by means of a detection and extinction system capable of intervening promptly, minimizing possible damage.

BUT HOW DOES DOMINO CONSULTING OPERATE or  WORK IN A SUCH IMPORTANT NEED?

Aerosol extinguishers offer a unique method of extinguishing fires by dispersing condensed particles of potassium carbonate and inert gases.

Aerosol (GA) generators use a solid mixture of potassium and nitrogen salts, called “compound”, as extinguishing agent.

The extinction occurs through a dispersion, following activation, of the extinguishing mass which, by triggering a catalysis, transforms the compound (solid state) into aerosol (gaseous state).

THE AEROSOL GENERATORS GUARANTEE NOT TO VERIFY HAZARDOUS FIRE RESTART.

The Flambus phenomenon

The Flambus phenomenon

The “Flambus” phenomenon emergency is now very well known.

According to various data, the last three years have seen 67 vehicles on fire, of which 21 only in 2018.

But if today it all seems very clear, why does this phenomenon have no end?

The main questions to which we would like to give an answer again are two:

  1. How a fire comes to life ?
  2. How this can be interrupted?

HOW IS THE FIRE CREATED?

In most cases, the fire arises due to fatty substances and oil residues which, over time, tend to create crusts of easily flammable material.

It is true that the heat produced by the combustion of the engine causes the engine body to reach 95 ° C and the exhaust pipes up to 600 °C; this means that the percentage of probability that a fire triggers is very high, especially if you add the poorly ventilated engine compartment and a high external temperature.

Two other fundamental elements concern:

  1. the wear of these means of transport
  2. poor maintenance – which does not allow to identify and therefore brake any faults and malfunctions on the vehicle.

It almost seems that the “maintenance” factor has now been placed in second place, at the time of the purchase of a heavy vehicle, without precisely taking into account the service that the vehicle must necessarily undergo during its entire activity.

WHAT ACTION CAN BE TAKEN?

Clearly the main objective is the safety of all passengers, road traffic, and environmental impact.

An efficient detection and extinction system aims to protect the vehicle and its passengers from the fire.

The fire system must be:

– EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE

– ECOFRIENDLY

– QUICK DETECTION AND PREVENTIVE

– SIMPLE MAINTENANCE

– 24\7 SYSTEM MONITORING

– ACOUSTIC AND VISUAL ALARM REPORT

Thus acting we would have a reliable security system and therefore the possibility of informing the driver and passengers of the occurrence of the event, signaling the reference zone, and intervening in the initial phase of the phenomenon.

Fire suppression system for Electric Buses

Fire suppression system for Electric Buses

Fires in vehicles can cause severe vehicle damage and often result in the loss of lives. These are by-and-large caused by short-circuits in the electrical installation or engine and battery compartment.

DOMINO SAS  is the best solution to protect the electric buses.

In order to minimize the possible risk of fire, the fire detection system must be reliable and efficient, thus equipped with a continuous communication and a suitable extinguishing system.

DOMINO SAS protect the electric vehicles thanks a compact system, easy to install, not pressurized, with a continuous monitoring.

WHY CHOOSE SAS DOMINO?

  • Highly effective extinguishing agent
  • Environmentally friendly.
  • Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP)=0
  • Global Warming Potential(GWP)=0
  • Non-toxic
  • Non-corrosive
  • Easy to install
  • No pressure vessels, piping or expensive installation manpower
  • ZERO maintenance
  • No damage to electronic equipment
  • Non conductive
ACTIVA – SMART fire protection for electric charging columns.

ACTIVA – SMART fire protection for electric charging columns.

In the last years the world of mobility has embarked on a new route, embracing eco-sustainability. The future is electric.

Obviously the new technologies foresee the use of highly controlled materials for the constriction of electric vehicles / buses and the attached columns of refills, but when we look for the main causes of fire, we find in the first line the electrical devices / systems.

Safety is obviously a key factor for every charging system, especially taking into account that the charging station:

  • provides a connection socket
  • is on the road,
  • it is accessible from ordinary people, that is without any particular risk competence, even of an electrical nature.

ACTIVA continuously monitors both carbon monoxide levels and the absolute and differential temperature inside the electric charging column.

As soon as an increase in the concentration of monoxide and the temperature in a critical range is recorded, a pre-alarm is generated, over the range an alarm is signaled that activates the aerosol shutdown.

ACTIVA FE 100 is a device capable of integrating effective detection system with an efficient aerosol shutdown system

The NO Maintenance “SAS Automotive” of Domino Technology

The NO Maintenance “SAS Automotive” of Domino Technology

The DOMINO TECHNOLOGY SAS system does not require any kind of preventive maintenance intervention as all the control functions are managed and displayed by the SAS CU control unit.

The SAS system can be installed entirely by electric cables, neither pressure pipes nor nozzles are required.

The condensed aerosol extinguishing system (potassium salts) involves the use of one or more generators (dispensers) electrically connected to the SAS CU unit.
Aerosol generators do not require special maintenance and have a life cycle of 15 years.

In case of extinction, even accidental, the motor of the vehicle will not be damaged and neither will get dirty with powders or liquids and the electronic components will not be damaged; all in total respect of the environment.

Each component of the SAS system is continuously monitored from the heat-sensitive cable to the aerosol generators and from the power supply to the relays.

Any anomalies are automatically reported by the control panel and displayed on the touch screen panel.

In the event of a fault, the point in failure will be easily identifiable
